Dr. Borgal is currently a Royal Society Newton International Fellow hosted by the University of Exeter, where she studies stem cell mitosis in developing Drosophila tissues. Her research interests focus on phospho-regulation of the microtubule associated protein Abnormal spindle (Asp) and demonstrate that the mitotic requirements for Asp differ in a tissue-dependent manner. She completed her PhD at the University of Cologne in Germany where she focused on the influence of primary cilia-associated protein phosphorylation on Wnt signaling in human cell culture, and her BSc and MSc in Neuroscience at Dalhousie University in Canada.
