Biography

Dr Annis Richardson is a PI at the Institute of Molecular Plant Sciences, the University of Edinburgh. Her lab, studies how grass crops, like barley and maize, grow and the link between organ shape and productivity. To build a comprehensive understanding of development from the gene to the whole plant scale, she uses a multidisciplinary approach including 3D imaging, genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics and computational modelling. Her talk will cover her recent work in modelling grass leaf development and how this can be used to understand the genetics underpinning other leaf-like organs, like the lemma, in grass crops.
