CSI Student wins Diabetes UK prize for best presentation

09 Dec 2013

Francesca Nardi, a PhD student in Hari Hundal’s lab (Division of Cell Signalling & Immunology), was awarded the accolade of the best presentation at the annual Diabetes UK networking day. The conference, a national meeting held in London last week, saw fellow PhD students (all funded by the charity and working across the UK ), along with professors and lay audience-members vote Francesca’s research presentation as the best. Francesca’s talk was based on her studies assessing the molecular mechanisms by which mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids improve insulin sensitivity in skeletal muscle.
