Professor Frank Sargent of the College of Life Sciences’ Division of Molecular Microbiology has received the University of Dundee Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
The award aims to acknowledge and reward senior teachers for outstanding achievement in contributions to teaching at the University of Dundee over a significant period of time and who have demonstrated effective leadership in teaching and mentorship for new teachers. The Award endows the title of Chancellor's Award Fellow and will be given to Professor Sargent at the University's Graduation Ceremony next week (18 June 2014).
Professor Sargent said, “I’m delighted to receive the Chancellor’s Award. I have always believed that our students achieve the most from teaching that is informed by innovative research. I am pleased that through this award the University is recognising the crucial link between cutting-edge research and excellence in teaching – both of which can only benefit our students and prepare them for promising careers in science.”
