University of Dundee

Anna Kelner

I graduated with a degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2009. My senior thesis research topic was on phosphatidylinositols in vacuole membrane fusion.  After graduation, hoping to expand my experience in different branches of research, I worked as a DNA sequencing and genetics technician at the University of Texas in Austin.

Studying at the University of Manchester for a semester motivated me to come to the UK for graduate school.  I joined The Wellcome Trust Programme at The University of Dundee for its strong research reputation and the diversity of research topics we are given the opportunity to explore in our rotation year.
