Microbiology Research

The College of Life Sciences is home to many well-known scientists whose research involves the use of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, yeasts, slime-moulds and protozoa. The research has a biological, environmental, biotechnological and medical impact. They are funded by research grants from a variety of organisations, including Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Medical Research Council (MRC), the Royal Society, the Wellcome Trust and the European Union. The research that they are undertaking may be viewed by clicking the links below.
