The Queen announces new Regius Professorship for Dundee The Government today announced twelve university departments that are deemed to be outstanding – including Life Sciences at the University of Dundee - are to have the prestigious title of Regius Professor bestowed upon them by The Queen to mark the Diamond Jubilee.

This year’s Discovery Day event is a tremendous opportunity to hear some of our newly-appointed professors talk for 15 minutes each about their area of work. It’s also a great snapshot of some the leading edge research in the University. The day is broken up into discrete sessions with three or four speakers and questions, with breaks between sessions for coffee, tea and lunch – all refreshments provided.

A project carried out at the University of Dundee has won a sixth-year pupil from the city’s Menzieshill High School a place in the final of the prestigious National Science + Engineering Competition.
